About
My name is John Allwine. By training, I'm a software developer and visual effects artist. I've worked in web development since high school. I have credits in How To Train Your Dragon, Megamind and Madagascar 3 from my time as a visual effects artist at Dreamworks Animation. I've taught at Montana State University in the computer science department here in Bozeman as well as at the Children's Museum of Bozeman in their STEAMlab.
I enjoy applying my knowledge of coding and 3D graphics to just about everything I do. In my blog posts, you'll see interactive widgets that help design 3D printable objects, generate cut lists for building furniture, or instructions for tying knots. I love to make, tinker, play and teach, but most of all I love to learn. With a growing family, a house ready for some improvements, and some fun toys to play with in the garage, I have a lot to learn. Follow along with my experiments and DIY projects involving 3D printing and other CNC technologies, internet of things and Arduino, woodworking, coding, graphics and more.
